Applies to the candidate chosen at the Republican National Convention in 2012 to run as the Republican Candidate for President in the 2012 US Presidential Election, in which delegates of the Republican Party will choose the party's nominees for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States. The convention will be held during the week of August 27, 2012, in Tampa, Florida at the St. Pete Times Forum.

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann of Minnesota began a campaign for the 2012 Republican Party nomination for president of the United States in June 2011. Bachmann announced she was running for president during the CNN Republican primary debate held June 13, 2011, and made her formal announcement two weeks later in her hometown of Waterloo, Iowa.
