The 2012 Republican presidential primaries are the selection processes in which voters of the Republican Party will choose their nominee for President of the United States in the 2012 presidential election. There are 2,286 delegates. A candidate must accumulate 1,144 delegate votes to win.
The 2012 Florida Republican primary will be held on January 31, 2012, on a winner-take-all basis. Fifty delegates are at stake, none of them are RNC (or super) delegates. The Republican National Committee removed half of Florida's delegates because the state committee moved its Republican primary before March 6. It is a closed primary. There are 4,063,853 registered Republican voters as of January 3, 2012.
