Pembrokeshire-schooled Bradley Manning, who will stand trial for allegedly giving more than 700,000 secret US documents and classified combat video to anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks for publication, has been nominated by the The Movement of the Icelandic Parliament.
In a letter to the Nobel Peace Prize committee, the Parliament said: “The documents made public by WikiLeaks should never have been kept from public scrutiny... citizens worldwide owe a great debt to the whistleblower for shedding light on these issues.”
